Psychiatric Nursing Graduate Programs - Beginning Fall 2025!

Are you looking to develop a nursing career in mental healthcare? Are you committed to serving your patients and communities through excellence in practice?

A PMHNP degree empowers you to be at the forefront of mental healthcare, addressing one of the most critical needs in our society today. With a focus on holistic, patient-centered care, this advanced degree opens doors to a rewarding and in-demand career.

A Career In Demand

The demand for mental health professionals continues to rise due to increasing awareness of mental health issues, higher rates of mental illness, and the growing recognition of the importance of mental healthcare.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the employment of nurse practitioners, including PMHNPs, will grow much faster than the average for all occupations, with a projected growth rate of 40% from 2023 to 2033. Salary.com lists the median annual salary as $112,000 to $130,000, depending on specific job roles and locations.

Online Program

Starting in Fall 2025, the nursing department at The University of Scranton will offer an online program in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with three degree options:
