At Scranton, you can choose the graduate program in accounting that best meets your education and career goals. The number of credit hours and completion time are dependent on the program you choose.

Programs

Master of Accountancy

This 30-credit-hour program is geared toward young professionals working in public accounting firms and recent graduates of bachelor's programs in accounting. Students develop qualitative, analytical, and soft skills that can be applied immediately to professional accounting roles. You can choose from one of our three tracks, including Forensic Accounting, Accounting Analytics, and General Accounting.

Scranton’s MAcc degree program offers a bridge program that allows you to earn your Master of Accountancy degree even if you hold a non-accounting bachelor’s degree. You’ll get the training, prereqs, and acumen needed to succeed and thrive in the program.

MBA - Accounting Specialization

This 39-credit-hour program aims to provide a broad business education designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to help them succeed in an accounting, financial, or managerial role. An MBA in accounting offers courses across all functional areas and three advanced courses in accounting alone.

PhD in Accounting

The University of Scranton also offers a Ph.D. program in Accounting, a 53-credit-hour program designed to provide experienced professionals with the advanced skills and credentials required to secure and succeed in full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at accredited institutions. Students have the chance to present at conferences and submit manuscripts to academic journals as part of the curriculum.
