A High-Paying Career in a High-Demand Field

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of speech-language pathologists is projected to grow 19 percent from 2022 to 2032, much faster than the average for all occupations. 1  Individuals with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology are also qualified for roles in supervision and training of speech pathology students.

From 2022 to 2032, employers are expected to have an average of 13,200 job openings for speech-language pathologists annually.1

Practicing speech-language pathologists must hold a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, as well as state licensure. Our speech language pathology master's program prepares students to become certified and licensed in the field.

Speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat individuals with communication and swallowing disorders or differences. They implement technology and evidence-based methods into their clinical practice and can also provide aural rehabilitation and augmentative and alternative communication systems for clients.1

 

Speech-language pathologists can work in settings such as:

  • rehabilitation facilities
  • private practices
